The movers from United One Vanlines impressed me with their efficiency. They showed up on time, packed everything neatly, and unloaded without a single issue. Honestly, it was the most stress-free move I’ve ever had.

Long-distance move from Highland Park, IL to Grosse Pointe, MI

Phone call is not what was in writing!!

Also carefree movers, relocation nation & Celtic consulting & management LLc out of Florida. This Company now also goes by the Name:

United OneVanlines

#UnitedIneVanLines

united one vanlines

Same USDOT Number: 3939219

And apartment office address for Celtic consulting & management LLC.

They said on the phone that would would be given a 26 ft moving truck & gave us a great quote. PROBLEM is we did not realize that 1091 “cubic feet” IS NOT a full 26 foot truck. A full truck is 1800 Cubic feet!!! When we called they said it is on the consumer to know that! They did not refund our deposit, even partially we didn’t even have a quality assurance !

They keep your money or outsource & charge you 2 to 4 times more!!

Avoid these scammers!!

We lost $890. But probably saved an additional $2500. By not using them!

We will be reporting them for bait and switch as well as unscrupulous business practices to the Federal Department of Transportation.

If you have had similar or poor experiences with United One Vanlines, carefree moving, or Relocation Nation, report this business. **Do not give them a deposit!!!!

If you did give a check to:

#CelticConsulting&ManagementLLC

Cancel it immediately with in 24hours !!!!

Official company response

Hello Mr. Youngblood, we are sorry to hear your experience with us did not go as planned and wish things had worked out differently. We would like to point out the several false statements your negative review is based upon. The estimates that we provide to our clients are based upon the cubic foot space reservation within the 26 ft. box truck determined by the items provided to the coordinator and listed on the estimate. Once the inventory is completed, the coordinator will send the estimate to the customer to confirm the inventory is correct, and update any items if needed. Once the inventory is confirmed, the client will be assigned a space reservation within the 26 ft. box truck to fit the listed inventory and offered a quote for the amount of space being occupied. In your case, your space reservation was 1091 cubic feet of space for the quoted price. This was very clearly explained to you over the phone and re - confirmed during the verification call completed directly after booking. It is very possible that you have a misunderstanding when it came to the space reservation being a portion of the 26 ft. box truck, however at no point in time was it advised you would be able to utilize the entirety of the box truck without paying for the full space. The deposit payment is to cover the scheduling and routing costs prior to the drivers arriving onsite. All customers are provided with a cancellation period in which they are eligible for refund of the deposit paid. After the cancellation period ends, we will schedule and assign a crew for pickup. At this time the scheduling services are provided and the services covered by the deposit are considered rendered. Cancellation was requested 5 days prior to the scheduled pickup window, at this time reservation had already been scheduled therefore the services were rendered. In regards to the claim that we have operated under the name Relocation Nation or Carefree Moving is incorrect, this is not correct. A simple google search will show different ownership, location, and contact information for all companies mentioned in the review. We have only ever operated as United One Van Lines. As mentioned in the beginning of this response, we are very regretful that we were not able to service your move. However, we did offer many alternatives to cancellation and solutions to the concerns that you had. We would like to make it clear that we do not appreciate the lies and misinformation you are spreading online about our company and encourage you to reach out to us to handle these issues directly. If you wish to proceed with the reservation, we would be more than happy to work something out with you to service your move. Feel free to contact our customer service team at (877)461-8780.

The highlight of a good experience at this company is that the staff and movers alike take the wishes of the customers into account. They not only listen but they act on it as well to make sure you have a smooth experience. I had a terrific time relocating with their competent moving crew recently. None of my things were harmed. Long-distance move from Houston, TX to New Orleans, LA

Fraud Alert

Contrary to what is suggested by previous reviews, United One Van Lines is NOT a moving company. They are a moving BROKER. That means, they DO NOT work directly with movers or drivers. Instead, they contract with other moving companies that manage your entire move and they do not reveal this fact on their website or over the phone, much less provide the list of companies they contract with on their website (as is required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)). In other words, the binding contract you sign with them that guarantees "total cost of the move based upon the quantities and services shown on the estimate" does not necessarily end up being honored by the actual moving company that shows up to pick up your possessions. At that point, you will need to sign a separate Bill of Lading that details in fine print the fee schedule that the actual moving company will charge you. These fees naturally end up greatly exceeding the binding estimate agreed upon in your initial contract with United One Van Lines. Additionally, the contract you sign with United One Van Lines also stipulates that the Bill of Lading you sign with the moving company takes precedence over your initial contract with the binding estimate.

Additionally, because they are a broker agency, they cannot update you on the logistics of your move or guarantee the quality of the movers. You need to contact the moving company you have been assigned for any details regarding your move after they pick-up your belongings. During the estimate process, they will tell you over the phone that several services are included in the cost (for instance, that the movers will wrap your things at pick-up and stage them at drop-off). That is not a true service that the movers will provide and, in fact, you will incur charges for anything >75 ft the movers must walk from door to truck and >12 stairs. This is a deceptive business practice to be aware of if you elect to work with United One Van Lines as your moving broker.

Many of us chose to work with these larger companies for interstate moves because they provide a sense of legitimacy and security and, above all, insure your belongings. However, the carrier insurance they contract with to handle lost or damaged items is called movingclaims.net (feel free to look up their reviews and encounters with the Better Business Bureau; see https://www.reddit.com/r/moving/comments/xlw5sf/moving_claim_httpsmovingclaimsnet_scam/).

Obviously, any business that declines to accept credit card payments is suspect (and I feel like an utter fool), but United One Van Lines has really mastered the art of deceptive business practices and formulating contracts that protect them from any liability.

For anyone else having issues with this moving broker agency, one form of recourse is to file a complaint with the FMCSA: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/file-a-complaint.

Official company response

Hello Simone, we are very sorry to hear that your experience with us was not what you hoped it would be. At the time of booking we are very transparent to the fact that we are a broker and it is listed within the service agreement looked over and signed by the client, prior to making the deposit payment. All carrier’s contracted with United One Van Lines go through a strict vetting and probation process prior to servicing jobs with us. When issues arise with one of the vetted carrier’s we work with, we review the situation, and oftentimes they are terminated.

The carrier’s we work with also adopt our chargeable fees, when agreeing to service our jobs through the binding estimate. By DOT terms, a “Binding Estimate” is defined as an estimate of costs based on a cubic foot or weight space reservation within the moving truck. This estimate is binding contingent on the load not requiring additional services or exceeding the space reservation. Should the space reservation be exceeded, the client will only be charged the price per cubic foot / pound for additional space.

That being said, at the time of pickup you had additional 15 cubic feet, required additional packing by the drivers, and were charged a long carry fee due to the truck having to park far from the entrance to the pickup location. At the time of delivery, the truck had to park over a block away from the location, carry the items up a 25 step spiral staircase, and hoist items over the 2nd floor patio in order to get them into the apartment. We understand that moving is stressful and additional charges don’t help ease that stress. However, understandably the excessive amount of extra labor done by the drivers does need to be compensated for per the agreement signed. Furthermore, the carrier even offered a discount on the cost as a courtesy to you.

As a moving broker, we are the liaison between the carrier and the client. This means along the way, any update needed can be requested through us and we will update along the way. We reach out to all clients the day prior to the pickup window to provide the estimated time of arrival for pickup and are able to fulfill delivery update requests. We are also able to assist with resources that offer additional insurance. Per the DOT, standard cargo insurance is 60 cents per pound, per item. We understand some clients may want more coverage, so we educated ourselves and found reliable moving insurance options available to clients at an additional cost.

It is a common misconception that a company not taking credit cards is a sign of fraud. This is not the case. In recent years there have been many instances of clients paying entire moves on a credit card and the move is completed with no issue, however the client decides to charge back. Due to this, companies across the US lost $100,000’s of dollars, causing them to no longer be able to accept credit cards because of the risk.

Once again, we are sorry you did not have a good experience and if there is anything more we can do to make this situation better, that we have not already done please reach out to us at (877)461-8780.

Long-distance move from La Habra, CA to Clermont, FL

Scammer broker, Do.Not. Pay them any deposit

The company sales Ryan Birch offered me low moving all in price from California to Orlando, saying they have crew out that way and they don’t want to return empty so he gave me full service price at $3/CF. When time came for the move, it was completely different moving brokerage company out from California, said they have to combine our stuff and wait for other people to go on the road, and also they have to charge $450 to load the piano and then changed the price to $700 and then they just left without loading out items. When I contacted United one van line, they said they do not refund my $2060 deposit, which was sent to the owner directly by Zelle.

I have also filed claim and complaint directly to their company insurance and all the transportation bureaus.

Do not book anything with them. They don’t own trucks and they scam your deposits. Stay away!

Long-distance move from Michigan to California

SCAM. WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER.

United One Van Lines was easily the worst moving experience one could have imagined. The company brokered us out to a mover with 1-star reviews and existing complaints of fraud without allowing us to see details prior to pickup. At 1:00am on the day of pickup, after all of our items were already loaded into the truck, we were forced to sign a series of documents increasing our price by over $1000 and, as we later found out, changes to the insurance policy. We also later found out that additional information was added to our signed documents AFTER they were signed, which prevented us from receiving insurance coverage. We later discovered that there were already fraud complaints filed against the company, but we were never made aware of this by United One Van Lines. We would have not minded any of this, in addition to the items being four weeks late, had they arrived in one piece. But arriving one month after being picked up, everything we owned had been destroyed.

The items arrived molded, putrid, and, in some cases, shattered. My acoustic guitar was shipped in a hard case that has never been damaged even by airlines, yet it was somehow completely smashed upon arrival. Our wrapped and padded glass items were shattered, and all electronics were water-damaged and unusable. They even lost a $700 keyboard that was never returned. After contacting customer services for help, no effort was put into retrieving the lost items or work with the carrier to settle claims, and we were told that they would not take responsibility for any damages. We were refused any refund or compensation. The company repeatedly denied responsibility for the damages, despite the carrier claiming that it was their responsibility as the paid broker to do so.

In the end, we suffered nearly $7,000 in damages by choosing to do business with United One Van Lines. Whatever you do, when you see the name of this company run in the opposite direction, They are a fraud and a scam.

Long-distance move from Fort Collins, CO to Jacksonville, NC

FRAUD ALERT!!!! LIARS AND SCAMMERS!!!

This company is a bunch of frauds and scam artists. This company is filled with liars. The salesman promised you one thing and then the customer service team tells you a completely different story.

I was given a $5600 estimate and locked in with a $2000ish deposit. Then a few days prior I was contacted to give a more accurate account of what I was moving. Now that total was raised to a $7000 ish estimate with a $3300 deposit.

During both of these calls, I spoke to salesman brad and al who both guaranteed my shelving units would be disassembled moved and reassembled upon delivery. This was a factor in me choosing this company.

When the moving company guy arrived he doubled the amount to almost $14,000 and when I asked for my refund back, they told me I couldn’t get it so agree or lose a ton of money.

The women from Florida just continually lie to me about what Brad and Al the two salesman both guaranteed me. They charged by the cubic foot and basically what they did was remove the shelves and keep these 8’x 4‘ frames and wrapped them in black plastic to take up as much cubic space as possible.

When I caught them, I asked if I could disassemble them and I was told no. The moving guy from Prime moving yelled at me and was a total jerk.

This company is nothing more than Florida trash, cheating, decent, good hard-working people out of their money. I have asked for them to honor Brad and Al‘s commitment to breaking them down and refunding me some of this cubic footage space which they refuse to do.

Now, they are holding my belongings hostage. I took possession of my home June 1, which was the first available delivery date. These women have told me they have 30 business days that is from June 1 to deliver my stuff.

As of today, June 17 I have not received any of my stuff. I believe that they are being petty and vindictive. At this point I am sure if I actually do receive my items they will be broken and mishandled because I have written these negative reviews, trying to warn others not to be duped by these awful people.

I have not been contacted by them with any updates. Any information is from me, begging the company to communicate.

You do not wanna work with this fraudulent scam artist and liars. DO NOT USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!! RUN!!!

Long-distance move from West Jordan, UT to Seattle, WA

Amazing From UT to WA!

The moving crew did a fantastic job managing my relocation from UT to WA. They carefully followed my instructions and wrapped my delicate chinaware with an extra layer. They were also cautious when lowering my mirror-top dining table from my apartment and securing it to the moving vehicle using sturdy straps and blankets. They went above and beyond to protect my possessions. It was just amazing!

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Texas

BEWARE OF THIS HEARTLESS SCAM

I should've known by the guy that was talking way too much about his personal life while I was trying to make my final decision to use this company. This is a broker, not the transportation/moving company. That means they contract with random trucking companies/drivers that manage your move. Then they send you to their "Quality Assurance Dept" which is not at all what it should be. The initial quote will NOT be the final price by far. I was quoted $1900 for a move that ended up costing us a little over $4000. It started at $1900, selling you with all sorts of discounts and services like wrapping your items that we're now being nickel and dimed for. We did end up adding a few things because he told us we still had a little room left over so we may have gone just a little over which is understandable. But then once we got everything packed, we called with the final dimensions of most of the items and the box count and the quote went from $1900 to $2900 and when the truck came to pick up, that $2900 jumped to $4107 and they are saying we are using an extra 200cuft which not one thing was added since we were quoted the $2900 from the "Quality Assurance" team. This is such a scam, and they know there is nothing you can do about it at that point in your planning. Moving is stressful enough especially since we were there to help a sick family member that couldn't work anymore and was forced to sell his home of 16rs and on top of that, to do this to someone is NOT OK!!!! Be Careful and do your homework. All the reviews are great, which is what fooled me. They are taking advantage of people for the mighty $.

Everything went smoothly

These guys really took the time to wrap and protect every single item, no matter how big or small. They made sure that nothing was damaged or lost during the move. And when it came time to unload everything at my new place, they were just as careful and thorough. They placed everything where I wanted it, and helped me with the unpacking and organizing.
